The 2013 season was the first year in which Complete Cricket worked with the University of Warwick Men’s Cricket Club (UWMCC), and the results on the field were noticeable from the outset.
All 4 of UWMCC’s team performed exceptionally well on the field with the 2s, 3s, and 4s all narrowly missing out on promotion. In conjunction with these performances the 1st XI maintained their position in the Premier League of university sport and will compete once again university cricket powerhouses Loughborough and Leeds. This, in my opinion is a truly outstanding achievement considering the reputations, resources, and facilities at the disposal of our opponents.
The success of the UWMCC on the field last season would not have been possible without the professional expertise of the Complete Cricket Coaches, Jamie Spires, Alan Richardson, Ian Westwood, Dominic Ostler and Richard Weaver. All 5 of them were extremely approachable, professional and above all fantastic coaches. Attendance at net sessions increased exponentially, as I felt that all of those mentioned was adding terrific value to each training session. Each coach brought something different to each session and helped improve the games of everyone our players, some of who are playing at the highest level.
I personally would like to thank Jamie and Dave Smith, who from the outset were extremely approachable and professional in helping us, set up this coaching programme. I believe I am correct in saying that this was the first time Complete Cricket had catered for University Sport and I could not have been happier with the results they produced. I would like to wholeheartedly thank Complete Cricket for the enthusiasm and commitment they put into the club last season. We have thoroughly enjoyed working with them and there is no doubt that we will continue to build our relationship with them in the future.
